Yoga can be one of the best practices to cultivate for a healthy pregnancy and birth. For many women regular yoga practice becomes a strong part of the support system that is so helpful during pregnancy. You will learn invaluable breathing techniques, and yoga postures that help before and during labor and delivery. This prenatal yoga class is for any woman who is at least 14 weeks pregnant, has their doctor’s approval to exercise and is interested in doing yoga.

General guidelines: 1. Make sure you can talk easily through the whole class, listen to your body and slow down or rest if needed. 2. Pay attention to your center of gravity practice near a wall if needed. 3. Drink plenty of fluids before, during and after exercising. 4. Don't get overheated. 5. After week 20, do not lie flat on your back. 6. Avoid over stretching.
Do not exercise if: 1. You have pain anywhere. 2. You have any bleeding. 3. You are having frequent Braxton Hicks contractions. 4. You are at risk for or have been in preterm labor. 5. You have heart disease. 6. You have placenta previa past 26 weeks. 7. You have a weak (incompetent) cervix. 8. You have preeclampsia. 8. You have intrauterine growth retardation. 9. if you are pregnant with triplets or more.
Check with your caregiver before exercising if: You have anemia, you are pregnant with twins, or if you have never exercised before.
Stop exercising if:
1. You have shortness of breath or dizziness
2. You feel physically weak
3. You feel pain or a headache
4. You feel any vaginal fluid leaking
5. You have vaginal bleeding or have been bleeding the last few days.
6. You notice decreased fetal movement
